Yarn, hook and other requirements:

I have used Elle Vintage Baby 4ply (100g/415m per skein) yarns in colours (A) 001 snow (3 balls), (B)164 Lavender (1 ball), (C) 307 Tulip (1 ball).

This is enough for the entire set with a bit of yarn leftover, and a 4mm hook. This will fit a baby up to 3 months old thus be loose-fitting for newborn/1 month old. For a smaller newborn size I would suggest simply using a 3mm hook instead for the clothing.

The blanket pattern is completely adjustable to suit size needs. The example blanket used a 20 X stitch pattern repeat for the width and a 20 X row pattern repeat for the height and resulted in a blanket size of +-80cm/32 inc wide X 66cm/26 inc high, before the chosen border.

You might also require some of the following items depending on your preferences:
Stitch markers, scissors, 4 - 5 snap buttons, and a large eye needle for weaving in ends.
